Saturday Racing Best Bets at Randwick & Caulfield 14 April 2018

Randwick is shaping up to be a Good 4 for day 2 of The Championships, with the rail out 3m for the entire circuit. The track was pretty fast last weekend and I’m expecting another day which has a slight advantage to the on-pace runners. There is a slight chance of showers however which could change things.

As far as Caulfield goes, we’ll be racing on a Good 3 with the rail out 9m for the entire circuit. Rain is also forecast for Melbourne on Saturday and if it arrives this will give the on-pace runners an advantage given the rail is out so far. Watch the forecast carefully over the next 48 hours.

Randwick

Race 2 # 2 Isaurian

Is off to a flyer in his short career. He closed off nicely behind the in-form I Am Excited last start so with Bowman staying aboard and jumping from a similar gate, I’m expecting another brilliant fast finishing effort at Randwick on Saturday. $2.80

Race 3 # 6 Pure Elation

Was very impressive when winning at the Farm two weeks ago where she hit the front and never looked back, scoring easily by 2L. The start before that she was only beaten by 0.4L by Slipper winner Estijaab- say no more. Will take some holding out with a super light-weight on board. $4

Caulfield

Race 2 #7 Amortentia

Is so consistent. She’s won four from seven over this trip and gets a lovely draw. She has great third-up form and with any luck should fight this out. $3.40

Race 5 #2 Han Xin

Was enormous last start at Caulfield where he hit the lead as soon as they jumped and sped away. Once they hit the turn, he kicked and scored by nearly 5L. He looks to be a beauty and will take some serious beating. $3
