David Gately Horse Racing Tips - Flemington & Randwick 8/3/25

A huge weekend of racing is upon us, with feature meetings at Flemington and Randwick.

At Flemington, the rail moves out 5m after being at 2m last Saturday, where the track played fairly but didn’t favour big swoopers in the circle races.

In the straight events, runners preferred the middle to outside lanes, but nothing ventured too wide.

In Sydney, Randwick’s track rating remains a watch and act, with rain forecasted from Thursday through Saturday, ranging anywhere from 0 to 9mm.

The rail moves out to 3m after being in the True last week, where runners largely avoided the inside rail, which appeared to be inferior ground.

Flemington - Race 8 No.1 - TREASURETHE MOMENT

This filly did everything wrong first-up and still proved far too good.

She faced the breeze on a blustery day, gave weight to the field at an unsuitable distance, and still put them away with ease.

With the mile suiting even better second-up, she looks the clear top pick and will take plenty of beating.

Randwick - Race 1 No.7 - POCKETING

Forgive the cardiac arrhythmia two runs ago, and you’ll see this lightly-raced galloper is flying.

He zoomed home late last start, only to just run out of ground, suggesting the step up to 1600m is exactly what he needs.

The blinkers go on, and if he gets clear air late, he should run over the top of them. Expect a big performance.
