Valley Speed Burn
Moonee Valley hosts Group 1 William Reid night this Friday, with the feature event stacked with speed and early pressure.
Whilst the favourite is very smart, I feel with early pressure she could be vulnerable over the final 50m.
I'm looking wider to several runners who may receive the nice tag.
Track Conditions
The Moonee Valley track is currently rated a Good 4, with the rail True for the entire circuit.
Fine conditions are predicted for Friday evening.
Moonee Valley can suit on-pace profiles and give a significant advantage to leaders.
However, refer to the early races for a guide on track bias.

The Map
-
Expect Marabi (8) is clearly the one who will want the front and does appear to have the superior early speed if they choose to lead.
-
Electric Girl (10) and Snapper (5) are the two that could apply pressure through the first 200m, and attack early if they choose to go warp speed.
-
Jonker (14) and Generation (2) are both likely to punch up to hold forward positions and should sit behind the lead.
-
Zouzarella (9) and Trekking (4) are all clear run-on profiles and will be hoping for a hot speed up front which will allow them to get home hard over the top.
The Early Favourite
Marabi ($1.80) comes up very short, however has been ultra impressive all the way through. She did chalk up her first Group 1 win last start, in a dominant Oakleigh Plate performance.
The connections have made it clear they will attempt to lead, and it will be a brave rider to take her on for the premier position out in front.
She will be very hard to run past, however if there is significant early pressure from out wide, she will be vulnerable inside the final 50m.
Best Racing Tips
I'm happy to be with Generation who looks big odds here at $17 and from gate 2 can stalk the favourite everywhere she goes. He has a strong SP profile, being heavily backed at his past few starts and must be showing plenty at home. Given a nice tag just in behind and with some pressure applied to the fav, he can win.
The Astrologist can also suck up, just in behind from the inside gate. This will let him save all his energy for a burst down the straight. His run to place 2 of 17 in the Newmarket was outstanding and that looks strong form for this race.
No knock at all on Marabi who is flying and clearly top shelf. She can lead and if left alone will be tough to topple.
