The rail goes back into the True position tonight which will be perfect for racing.
There’s been a bit of rain around so the track will be in the Soft 5 range, with light showers lingering.
I expect the track to race fairly, as always, but they may edge off the fence as they get through the card.
Best Bets from TheGingerWizard
Pakenham Race 2 #4 Girello $3.40
Girello didn’t look suited at The Valley last start.
He didn’t handle the bend well, but once he straightened, he hit the line strongly.
The jump-out before his debut was very good, so I’m happy to forgive him for that run.
He heads to the wide expanses of Pakenham tonight and the nose roll goes on first time.
When Mick Kent brings his horses to Pakenham, they always run well.
He’s drawn to get a great run from barrier three and Jackie Beriman retains the ride.
I think he is better than the favourite, Edge of Reward, and I’m happy to take the better price.
Pakenham Race 6 #2 Kapalua Sunset $2.00
The one-time VRC Oaks fancy returns to the track after a break.
She’s always shown ability after she bolted in at Kyneton.
The Tavistock filly didn’t measure up to the stronger 3YO features in the Spring, but maybe she just needed more time to develop.
She resumes over 1600m tonight and her latest jump-out was fantastic which tells me she’s come back well.
There isn’t much depth to this race, so she looks very well-placed to give a good sight.
Even money is a fair price so I’m happy to back her tonight.
