We are on the cusp of the Autumn carnival with the first Group 1 of the year set to be run at Caulfield this weekend.

Not wanting to be left behind there is both featured and group racing around the rest of the country.

Our resident gun analysts have done the form and have lined up some best bets.

The boys have been on a roll the last few weeks so grab the best prices before they dry up.

This shapes as a repeat of the contest in April last year.

On that occasion Seat Of Power led Stardome who mustered in the straight to run him down.

There’s been water under the bridge since then, however, our top pick ran a good second placing recently indicating to me he is back in form.

He is the only horse in this field who has won 6 races, so for this Class 6 the others are out of their qualifying grades.

Drawn to sit behind the leader here experienced campaigner Ron Stewart will give him a gun run throughout.

He can get the better of Seat Of Power over the final furlong and win in similar style again.

Caulfield Race 1 #2 In The Boat $2.20

Flying machine who can stretch his winning sequence to five on end.

There is no reason why he won't replicate his free-wheeling style and lead from start to finish.

He is stepping up in distance from 1200m to 1400m but that won't be a problem. His winning sequence began over 1300 metres at Warrnambool.

At his last start win at The Valley he recorded a hot time over the 1200 metres, that was just outside the track record.

Jockey Alana Kelly will take two kilos off and he can get punters off to a flying start.

Caulfield Race 9 #1 Probabeel $2.00

On a tough but brilliant day of racing at Caulfield and Randwick we can go out winners with this champion Kiwi mare.

The Richards team are going back to a winning formula bringing the star mare to Caulfield over the 1200m, where she won her previous two first up runs.

They were both in mares grade which she sees again on Saturday. To be honest, she’s a class above this grade.

The added positive is she is versatile, so depending on how she jumps jockey Brett Prebble has options from the barrier.

Her jump outs even though quiet were good to the eye, and suggest she is on track to not only run well here but her later goals.

She is 13 rating points clear of her nearest rival in the race and is well placed to continue her first up winning ways.
