Best bets at Flemington & Randwick 17 Feb 2018

I’m expecting Randwick and Flemington to play fair on Saturday, with both tracks to be rated a Good 3 and the weather Gods to smile on us. Expect winners to come from leading groups as well as from behind with no notable bias.  

I have two selections for both meets this week, including a few runners I have had my eye on over the past couple of weeks.

Randwick 

Race 4 #2 Deploy

He is a beauty, holding the track record here over 1200m and has finished in the top three in all four of his starts first-up. He will go very close. $3

Race 5 #8 The Pinnacle

She’s one from one second-up and drops 4kgs here from that first-up run. Expecting a big effort here. $3.70

Flemington 

Race 4 #7 Kings will Dream

He’s building an impressive record and his last two wins couldn’t have been more dominant. He will take some holding out here dropping 4.5kgs. $2.45

Race 5 #13 Handsome Thief

Is unbeaten third-up and his prep so far has been great, just missing in both races by less than a length each time. Drops a massive 6kgs here and looks very hard to beat with four wins already at this trip. $3.50
