Horses Deane Lester is not backing in the Melbourne Cup

Deane Lester had a chat with Andrew Bensley from RSN on Melbourne Cup Day morning and gave punters his view on which horses he wasn't keen on in the big race.

Here are the horses Deano is not backing in The Cup and why.

#1 Gold Trip

Thinks the top weight will be feeling the strain of the 57.5kg in the latter part of the race. For that reason he is not keen on its chances.

#4 Montefilia 

Deane doesn't see the Group 1 Ranvet winner getting the 3200m at Flemington.

#5 Numerian

Deane didn't think much of its run in a slowly run Caulfield Cup. Sees the Neasham trained horse being thereabouts up to the 2400m but struggling to make impact afterwards.
