Usual suspects make money
The past seven days saw a large group of punters and form analysts from Australia's racing media make serious profits from their tips. It seems as though the quality Spring races are driving a greater level of intensity from punters, which has resulted in these top notch performances.
As always we found a few that stood out from the pack.
One of the cream amongst the crop of Australia's racing media was Herald Sun and TAB racing commentator Nick Quinn. Quinny found a tank full of winners this week, notching up his 26th victor over the 7 days in the last race at Geelong on Monday.
Striking a winner at 44%, Quinn gave his followers a tasty windfall of $1,900 from a $100 win bet placed on each of his selections.
Remarkably Quinn has now notched up seven profitable days from his last ten, earning him $3k profit from the past 30 days with a $100 even stake betting plan.
Another media tipster who was well in the money this week was Daniel Nutall from Best Bets racing magazine.
Nutall found 10 winners over the past seven days at $5.44 average odds and highlighted his versatility by making 55% profit on turnover (POT) from 35 tips across four race meetings that spanned Victoria and NSW.
Punters following him with $100 win bets capped off the week with a handsome $1,940 profit.
But the racing media didn't have the lime light all to themselves. The big profits came from punters too and at the top of the list were a couple of names that we've come accustomed to seeing in the spotlight.
Victorian Capposki made yet another appearance in this column. Building on his winning effort in September he capped off the month with 12 winners averaging $4.63 odds for 91% POT. Punters made most cash profit from the seaside dweller over the 7 day period, with $100 bets bagging them a huge $2,650 extra in their betting accounts.
Close behind was that man again, Formulator. The professional punter added another two winners to improve his life-time profit statistics and gave his legion of followers a weekend to remember.
From just 13 tips the Melbournian punter found two winners that averaged $18.25 win odds, raising his total profit from $100 bets to be in excess of $27k.
That effort is typical of how this professional punter goes about his business. With 42% of his winners $7 and higher, and 21% $12 and higher, there's no disputing that this bloke uses a potent approach for finding value.
