The Valley Value
The Valley plays host to a Group 2 day of racing, with the Australia Stakes over 1200m being the feature event of the afternoon.
The track is currently rated a Good 4 but there are some showers predicted.
It is worth noting that it is also expected to be very hot weather, and the surface may start to deteriorate towards the end of the day.
The rail is true the entire circuit, at this set-up, horses on speed will hold the key.

The Valley Race 1 Tip #8 Schiller Effect $7.00
Great way to start the program, and I'm looking to kick things off with some value, with Schiller Effect being way over the odds.
Her debut 2nd at Stawell was impressive, and she was extremely unlucky not to win that race.
She got back in the field, and the leader flew along in front setting a very strong tempo. She began improving on the turn but hit a dead end at a crucial time.
Her overall race time was 7 lengths quicker than the class average even with the luckless finish, and she was the 5th fastest 400-200m split of the day showing she has a great turn of foot.
She will be better with race experience here, and drops 1kg off the debut run thanks to the claim for Matt Cartwright who is in outstanding form at the moment.
It looks a race with two clear leaders, and there's not a whole lot of speed behind that. If she can begin well, I expect them to settle much closer today and be in with a winning chance.
The Valley Race 9 Tip #5 Sweetzou $8.50
Racing well without much luck this prep, including a first up win here at The Valley over 955m, and a very unlucky 6th here two runs ago before meeting a smart one last time out at Caulfield.
Unfortunately bombing the start two runs ago meant she had to come from a near impossible position, and still ran the second fastest last 200m split of the day.
Fourth up now and back to a previous winning track and distance, the booking of a senior jockey looks a strong sign they mean business here.
From barrier one, Zahra should be able to put her right up on speed and in a winning position, somewhere that she just hasn't been of late.
Her previous figures are strong enough to win a race like this, and she will appreciate the firmer surface by the end of the card.
All signs are pointing to a very big run from the perfect draw, so i'm surprised at the current odds being offered up about here.
She looks a great each way bet to round out what should be a classic day of racing from The Valley.
