We head to Hawkesbury for a hotly contested 7 race card.
The track is currently rated a Soft 5 and the rail is out 2m from the 1300m-1100m, 4m from the 1100m-450m and 2m 450m-winning post.
Luke has lined up his two top picks to help fill your wallet before midweek racing.
Hawkesbury Race 2 #11 Santorini Sun $6.00
Happy to side with this 4YO mare as she makes her return from a spell.
In her last prep, she showed glimpses of promise but struggled to put it all together on race day.
Her major flaw was slow getaways, often trailing the field by unwinnable margins.
The sharp Maher / Eustace stable has worked their magic and in her two recent trials, she was smartly away from the barriers.
If this holds true on race day, she can hold a much more forward position in the run.
This will give her every conceivable chance to break her maiden.
Brenton Avdulla takes the reins for the first time, with connections opting against an apprentice.
She appears fit and sharp enough to give this race a huge shake first up.
Hawkesbury Race 3 #7 California Touch $91.00
This 3YO Deep Field colt should not be the current price he is.
Granted he is dual-nommed for Newcastle on Thursday, should connections run him here he will start at a much shorter quote.
All three of his runs back from a spell have been moderate without threatening. However, they have all been on bottomless Heavy tracks and I am happy to forgive.
Prior to his last start effort at Randwick, he trialled super in a forward position and was only nailed late by Sports Legend.
Back onto a Soft 5 we could really see the best out of this runner.
From the great draw of barrier 4, Reece Jones can get him forward to sit just in behind the speed.
From there if he can show any turn of foot he will give this race a huge shake at a monster quote.
