We head to Tamworth for a hotly contested 7 race card.
The track is currently rated a Good 4 and the rail is in the true position for the entire course
Luke has lined up his two top picks to help fill your wallet before midweek racing.
Tamworth Race 3 #14 Keroessa $6.00
A really interesting race early on the card with Keroessa as my on-top pick.
This All Too Hard filly has only had two trials but has been solid in both.
In her most recent trial, she was run off her feet early over the 1000m at Muswellbrook.
She came off the bit a long way from home, however recovered and came home strongly. A sign of maturity beyond her years.
On her race day debut, the step up to 1200m is perfect. As she physically develops she will be looking for further, but this is the perfect starting point.
Leading jockey for Kris Lees, Andrew Gibbons, takes the reins and from barrier 6 will have her in a midfield position with cover.
A hot early pace will be set by favourite Zenti and many of the rougher chances.
This should set the race up perfectly for Keroessa to sweep home out wide.
She will get better with experience but I'm happy to speck her at the current price.
Tamworth Race 5 #3 Small Town $3.80
This Sue Grills trained Gelding loves racing at Tamworth and is going for three on the bounce at this location.
His on-pace style is perfect for the track and unusually doesn't mind a wide draw.
He prefers to race on the outside of runners and has often struggled when cluttered up inside horses.
The barrier draw of 7 is perfect and he can take his time to push forward and sit outside the leader.
There doesn't appear to be a stack of early speed and if left alone in front, he can burn them on the corner and get a race winning break.
