We head to Taree for a hotly contested 8 race card.
The track is currently rated a Heavy 9 and the rail is out 3m for the entire course
Luke has lined up his two top picks to help fill your wallet before midweek racing.
Taree Race 3 #4 Golden Fantasy $6.00
This 4YO mare has put together a really consistent preparation this time in.
Her best runs to date have come at this track as it perfectly matches her front running style.
On her last outing to Taree, she came up against Stariks who she meets again.
Golden Fantasy was drawn off the track and got caught wide for the first 600m.
Jasper Franklin, riding her for the first time, decided to restrain her midfield but never got her to properly settle.
She exerted way too much energy in the run, however kept on okay to finish 4th behind Stariks who streaked away to win.
She now returns for revenge. Not only do they swap barrier draws, but Golden Fantasy gets a 2.5kg weight swing in her favour.
After his first ride, Jasper Franklin should be much better equipped to handle the mare.
Look for him to take her forward, in the leading division. From there he can dictate the race to the field.
The heavy track is of no concern and I am happy to make her the best of the day.
Taree Race 5 #11 That's Molly $6.00
Happy to speck this daughter of Dissident as she finally steps up in distance.
She put in a solid effort over the unsuited 1000m and now gets to show her talent.
This former Victorian draws much better than her first up run at Gunnedah and can hold a forward position.
In Victoria her best run came at Stawell over the 1300m, a distance similar to what she tackles for this event.
Zac Wadick retains the ride and his claim brings her down to only 54kg.
With even luck in the running she will go very close.
