Our resident tipsters are back with a fresh set of best bets.
Rick Morris enters this weekend after finding a $16 winner in our Wednesday article.
He is joined by the ever-consistent Michael Manley, Zak Trussel and Justin Boccardo.
These are sure to come in for support so get the early prices.
Doomben Race 3 Tip #2 Acceber $6.50
This 2YO trained by Kristen Buchanan is on the quick back up, a good sign that he has pulled up very well from last Saturday’s run.
He has impressed in both runs to date and somehow got the money on debut at Newcastle, after lunging on the line to win by a whisker.
He then finished third at Eagle Farm over 1000m and was strong through the line, indicating 1200m will be more his to his liking.
James Innis Jnr who is a regular rider for the stable will ride him conservatively and find a nice trailing spot midfield.
He will be doing his best work late and looks a great chance to score again at a nice price.
Morphettville Race 8 Tip #6 Magic Max $8.00/$2.70 (1 x 3 Bet)
On a very even day of racing at Morphetville, Magic Max enters the 3YO Listed Redelva Stakes at a great price.
First up he blitzed them in a 3YO Class 1 which has produced some good formlines since.
At his next run, he went to Caulfield & was a moral beaten in an open 3YO race over the 1100m.
He only managed to get out with 250m to go and finished off with the quickest final 200m of the day.
This is a very strong field but these races tend to be run at a frantic pace and from gate 5, he will be able to tuck in behind the tempo.
The wide open Morphettville track will allow him to get clear running, to show his electric turn of foot in the run home.
There is plenty to like about this exciting gelding & the price makes him a top play for the weekend.
Caulfield Race 7 #12 Swats That $2.80
Top class filly who looks perfectly placed via the weight scale to return to the winner’s list.
Her last three starts have been at Group One level for a third in the Darley Classic, a fourth in the Black Caviar Lightning and a fifth in the Newmarket Handicap competing against Australia’s best sprinters.
She was only beaten 2.3 lengths in the Newmarket and she rises 2.5kg in weight.
For comparison, The Astrologist, who finished second in the Newmarket, rises 7.5kg.
Also, Swat’s That is a winner over the track and distance.
From barrier three, Damien Oliver can have her in an ideal position to strike.
Ascot Race 6 Tip #4 Galactic Storm $2.90 Galactic Storm looks a very progressive horse for the all-conquering Durrant Stable. This 3YO gelding won a maiden and then after a spell returned, winning a Class 1 in impressive fashion. Last prep, he was 1200m to 1500m when winning second up with a similar formula here. For this weekend he is stepping from 1200m to 1400m for this second up assignment. Pat's Got Sass, Gorgeous Gossip and Maximum Impact will sort out the lead among themselves. Galactic Storm will be able to settle 2 or 3 pairs back the fence just tracking the speed. He can go through the grades this prep and this looks a nice stepping stone for him.Free horse racing tips from Justin Boccardo
