We head to Happy Valley on Wednesday tonight, with 9-races to play out on the “C” course.
The weather is forecast to be fine and punters can expect the track to start in the Good range.
Four jockeys rode doubles at the Chinese New Year meeting at Sha Tin on Sunday, including Zac Purton, Vincent Ho, Christophe Soumillion and Matthew Chadwick.
Joao Moreira is suspended for this meeting, while Christophe Soumillion has left Hong Kong for the remainder of the season.
Zac Purton has a lovely book of rides tonight, with strong winning chances aboard some in-form horses.
Expect Zac to produce some winners tonight!
Happy Valley Race 5 Tip #1 Savaquin $2.20
Savaquin is a last start winner over this course and distance, having produced an impressive performance from gate 11.
Joao Moreira was on board and he rode the horse well.
Although he raced wide into the home turn, he showed a great turn of foot to beat Royal Bomb.
This 4YO continues to improve and racing in a Class 3 again will not pose an issue for him.
Zac Purton takes the ride and jumping from gate 6, he looks set for back-to-back wins.
Happy Valley Race 7 Tip #7 El Jefe $7.00
El Jefe will race over this course and distance for the first time tonight, but he has the ability to handle it.
He raced at Happy Valley last season over a shorter distance, so he has racing experience at the track.
He's sired by Bernardini which is a big positive, given many of his offspring perform well at the city circuit.
The gelding chased well over 1400m in the past and the step up to 1600m will suit him, along with the pedigree.
He has enough stamina to run well over a mile and has been racing consistently this prep.
Expect him to score his first win of the season here.
