Race 5 #3 – Azeezle $2.20

Why am I keen on Azeezle? Here’s why:

• The Map: Drawing barrier 1 with Jamie Mott aboard, I expect this A & S Freedman-trained galloper to land in the lead on the rail. Mornington often favours front-runners in this position, which should give Azeezle a significant advantage.
• Sharp Jump-Outs: Azeezle has had two impressive jump-outs leading into this race, the latest over 900m at Mornington with J. Mott in the saddle. The work has been tidy and suggests the horse is ready to fire.
• Ratings and SP Profiles in Strong Races: This galloper boasts consistent ratings and starting price profiles in much stronger races than the one it faces here. Last start at Moonee Valley over 1000m, Azeezle finished 7th, just 2.4L behind Blue Stratum. Notably, the horses that ran 3rd, 6th, and 8th in that race have since come out and won, further franking the form.
