We return to The Caulfield Heath on Saturday after racing there on Thursday Twilight!

With the rail moving back to the True position after being at 6m on Thursday, I think it’ll be disadvantageous to be back and wide trying to swoop late.

Runners will be covering ground that’s already been raced on less than two days prior.

With that in mind, let’s find a runner who’ll be up on the pace and well-positioned on Saturday.

Why am I keen on Bon Mistress?

• The Map: This mare looks set to find herself in the sweet spot. Last start at Caulfield, she jumped evenly but Zac Spain dropped her back in the field to avoid trouble. This time, from barrier 7, I expect her to settle only one or two pairs back, right in the better ground.
  
  
• Rise in Distance Fourth-Up: Bon Mistress has been fourth-up twice before in her career, and on both occasions, she produced her best performances. This setup looks strikingly similar, with a rise in trip and ground that should suit her perfectly.
  
  
• Jockey Booking: The booking of Craig Williams signals clear intent from the stable that they expect her to perform strongly. Coupled with her map and fitness profile, this adds further appeal.

At $6+, Bon Mistress looks like an excellent bet.
