Luke's Town Plate Mail
It's the start of the Wagga Racing Carnival and Thursday's feature event is the Town Plate run over 1200m.
Conditions are perfect for contestants with the rail in the true position and the surface coming up a Good 4.
Luke Hovhanesian has cast his eye over the big hitters in the market and has found a couple of value plays that can run bold races.

Rocketing By
I have a good opinion on this horse but he is a real creature of habit.
His best runs have always been when back in the field and he's able to sneak runs up the inside.
He likes to lay in and the rail gives him guidance.
The class runner of the field but not sure the barrier draw of 9 is any favour so happy to pass at the $5 mark.
Gravina
Former James Cummings horse, who was well below his best last prep and is now under the care of Matty Dale.
He is appearing here off no public trials in NSW, but this isn't uncommon for the camp.
A big market watch for late support.
Nicolini Vito
The barrier is going to really stifle the chances of this gelding.
He will get back in the run but how big of a giveaway is he going to give his rivals?
This race doesn't look to have the strongest tempo event and he might give too big of a start.
I am happy to pass
Our Last Cash
He races well fresh and has good tactical versatility so should land in the first 8 runners.
He lands barrier 8 and with Blake McDougall aboard returns to a track he loves (3:3-0-0).
Trainer Donna Scott will have him primed for a huge run fresh.
Asgarda
Country Championship winner on a heavy track last start.
She got a good tempo in that event to storm home over the top of them.
Not sure she will get the same set up here and back to 1200m is a concern.
Aided by staying at 54kg but I can understand why there has been a slight early drift
Body Bob
Know where he will be, right up on the pace.
He gets the right draw to be handlebars down, catch me if you can tactics.
He handles all track conditions, but this is a huge jump in class against some proven tough horses
Will be feeling the pinch over the final 100m.
The Prodigal Son
He put the writing on the wall last start winning the preview of this event.
He drops 1kg in weight and just needs a bit of luck from the awkward barrier to be in the finish.
The clear vale pick in the race for me.
Tap 'N' Run
If a case can be made for The Prodigal Son, so can be for this gelding.
He had to give that runner 6kg last start and battled on fairly in the preview.
He now plummets in the weights to 54kg and it would surprise me to see them go forward on him from the tough draw.
If he gets some luck from the barrier can surprise at odds.
